Catalina Esteves Killed in Crash on Gilman Springs Road

Jose Angel Perez Arrested for DUI in Fatal Accident

Moreno Valley, CA (May 4, 2020) – One person was killed and two others were injured in a crash in Moreno Valley. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of May 4 on Gilman Springs Road.

Jose Angel Perez, 18, was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe on Gilman Springs Road when he collided with another vehicle. 

The impact caused the Tahoe to roll over several times. Two passengers – one identified as Catalina Esteves, 17 – were ejected from the vehicle. Esteves was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. 

The second passenger was also taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. Perez was later arrested for for driving under the influence of drugs. He will be booked when he recovers from minor injuries.
