Cecil Kidd Dies During Training at Sheriff’s Academy

Cause of Death Unknown in Fatal Riverside Incident

Riverside, CA (August 11, 2020) – A recruit fell ill and died while training at the Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center. The fatal incident occurred on the morning of August 11 In Riverside.

Cecil Kidd, 26, of Moreno Valley, was hired by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control on July 28. He was participating in training at the Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center when he started to become ill. He was taken to a hospital, where he became unconscious and died.

According to Cal/OSHA, Kidd died from natural causes. His cause of death has not yet been determined, but it is not considered to be work-related.
