Charlton Caldwell Killed in Crash at 106th Street and Vermont Avenue


3 Vehicles Collide in Fatal Westmont Accident

Westmont, CA (July 11, 2020) – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Westmont. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of July 11 at 106th Street and Vermont Avenue.

Compton resident Charlton Caldwell, 45, was driving a Saab 20T when a BMW 328i failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection. The driver of the BMW 328i went into the path of another BMW and the two collided. 

Caldwell was trying to avoid the crash when he collided with a concrete center median. He went off the road and hit a tree. He died at the accident scene. Another driver, a 39-year-old man from Los Angeles, was hospitalized with minor injuries.
