Baypoint, CA (August 15, 2019) – A CHP officer was injured in a crash in Baypoint. The accident occurred on the morning of August 15 on Highway 4.

A CHP motorcycle officer was pursuing a vehicle that was passing on the shoulder and center divide. The vehicle took off into Baypoint, where the vehicle collided with the CHP patrol vehicle.

Tyler Dickens, 19, of Oakland, finally stopped the car and started to walk away, but officers arrested him. Dickens was driving a reported stolen vehicle and was carrying a firearm. The CHP officer was injured but is expected to make a full recovery.
