Police Chase in Stockton Leads to Fatality
Stockton, CA (February 8, 2019) – A teen led police on a chase through Stockton, causing a fatal four-vehicle accident. The crash occurred on the morning of February 8 on Interstate 5.
A 17-year-old boy led California Highway Patrol officers on a chase in a stolen truck early Friday morning that ended with one person being killed and three people injured.
The chase started when California Highway Patrol officers tried to pull over a speeding Chevrolet on northbound Interstate 5, near West March Lane. The driver, a 17-year-old from Oakland, did not stop and a chase ensued. The driver headed south on Quail Lakes Drive, where he ran a red light and crashed into three vehicles on Da Vinci Drive. It was later determined that the Silverado was stolen from a residence in Stockton.
Stockton resident Christian Harrison, 35, was driving a Chrysler Sebring. He died at the accident scene. Francis Kim, 32, who was in a Toyota Matrix, suffered minor injuries. Kareem Sukwa, 43, was driving a black Chrysler Town and Country and suffered major injuries. The suspect sustained major injuries and is currently in CHP custody.
