Construction Worker Killed on Project at Highway 1 and Toro Creek Road


Victim Was Entangled in Cables in Fatal Cayucos Incident

Cayucos, CA (September 29, 2020) – A construction worker was killed in a workplace accident in Cayucos. The fatal incident occurred on the morning of September 29 at Highway 1 and Toro Creek Road.

The 26-year-old man, an employee of Ventura Directional Drilling, was working on the pipeline for a sewer project. He was performing a boring procedure when he became entangled in cables. Cal/OSHA confirmed that this led to his death.
