Desmond King Killed, 3 Injured in Crash on Bancroft Avenue
Driver Arrested for DUI in Fatal Oakland Fresno Accident
Oakland, CA (March 29, 2020) – One man was killed and three others were injured in a DUI crash in Oakland. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of March 29 on Bancroft Avenue.
A man was driving a Chevrolet Malibu in the 5400 block of Bancroft Avenue when he hit a parked vehicle. He then hit four men standing on a sidewalk. One of the men, Desmond King, 29, of Oakland, died at the accident scene. The other three men – ages 39, 45 and 50 – were taken to a hospital. Two are in stable condition, while the other is in critical condition.
The suspect – a 29-year-old man – fled the accident scene on foot but was later arrested. He faces charges of hit and run causing death, vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.
