Cal/OSHA Fines Santa Rosa Police Department $32,000

Santa Rosa, CA (March 2020) – A detective died from COVID-19 in March and now the Santa Rosa Police Department is getting fined for not preventing the woman’s death.

Detective MaryLou Armer died of COVID-19 in March 2020. Cal/OSHA has charged the Santa Rosa Police Department with several complaints and fined the department $32,000. 

The complaints include:

  • Failure to report her illness.
  • Failure to properly fit masks, face piece and barriers.
  • Failure to comply with proper screening procedures
  • Allowing symptomatic officers to return to work without testing
