Donatus Okhomina Killed in Transformer Accident on East Meadow Drive

Victim Was Working for City of Palo Alto in Fatal Accident

Palo Alto, CA (November 16, 2019) – A man was killed while working as a utility line person for the City of Palo Alto. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of November 16 on East Meadow Drive.

Donatus Okhomina, 42, was part of a crew upgrading an electrical transformer for Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was injured while working on the transformer. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. Nobody else was injured in the accident.

Okhomina was married with four daughters. This was his first month working for the City of Palo Alto. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Okhomina previously worked for PG&E and SMUD.

The City of Palo Alto utilities department and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the fatal accident.
