Pickup Collides With Disabled Flatbed in Fatal Rio Vista Accident

Rio Vista, CA (August 25, 2019) – A driver was killed after hitting a disabled vehicle in Rio Vista. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of August 25 on Highway 160.

The driver of a Nissan Frontier pickup was heading north on Highway 160, near Sherman Island Road, when it collided with a flatbed truck. The unoccupied flatbed truck was completely within the shoulder. The impact caused both vehicles to go down an embankment. They caught fire and the flames spread to nearby vegetation, burning about half an acre. The driver of the Nissan died at the accident scene.
