Francisco Deluna Killed in Crash on Interstate 15 Near Railroad Canyon Road

Driver Arrested for DUI in Fatal Lake Elsinore Accident 

Lake Elsinore, CA (January 8, 2020) – A man was killed in a DUI crash in Lake Elsinore. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of January 8 on Interstate 15. 

Francisco Deluna, 49, of Perris, was driving on southbound Interstate 15, near Railroad Canyon Road, in a Nissan Versa. He slowed down due to traffic and was rear-ended by a GMC Sierra pickup truck. The impact caused the Nissan to crash into the center divider. The driver of the GMC drove away from the scene, but was apprehended by CHP.

Deluna died at the accident scene. The pickup truck driver, a 55-year-old man from Temecula, was arrested for felony DUI and felony hit and run.
