Fred Cormia Killed, 2 Others Injured in Chiriaco Summit Accident
Chiriaco Summit, CA (November 8, 2018) – A man was killed in a rear-end accident involving two big rigs in Chiriaco Summit. The fatal crash occurred on the morning of November 8 on the 10 Freeway.
Fred Cormia, 67, from Los Angeles, was killed in the crash. He collided with a big rig on the westbound side of the 10 Freeway at Chiriaco Road.
Cormia was driving Freightliner when he veered off the road and rear-ended an International semi truck stopped on the right shoulder. The Freightliner continued on after the crash.
Cormia died at the accident scene. His male passenger suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. A 38-year-old Lubbock woman driving the International suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Her male passenger was not injured.
