Willie David Hamlin Faces Felony Charges for Fatal Concord Accident

Concord, CA (November 18, 2018) – A DUI crash in Concord has led to fatality. The accident occurred don the evening of November 18 on Highway 4.

Willie David Hamlin, 46, from Antioch, is suspected of DUI after killing one person in a three-vehicle crash. Hamlin was driving a Chevrolet Chevelle when it spun out of control on Highway 4, near Willow Pass Road.

Hamlin was allegedly speeding as he approached the exit. He then veered right and hit a guard rail. The vehicle then went back into traffic, hitting a Nissan sedan, then a Mitsubishi Lancer.

Giovanni Vasquez, 19, of Antioch, was driving the Lancer. He died at the accident scene. The driver of the Nissan was able to walk away from the crash with minimal injuries. Hamlin was hospitalized with major injuries. He is facing charges of felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
