West Covina Accident Leads to Fatality
West Covina, CA (January 5, 2019) – A woman was killed by a hit and run driver after she exited a disabled vehicle in West Covina. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of January 5 on the 10 Freeway.
The 22-year-old woman, identified as Grisol Lupita Ramirez from Pomona, was involved in an accident before she was hit. The driver, Jesus Angel Reyes, lost control of a Honda Civic while traveling west on the 10 Freeway, near Holt Avenue. The car struck the center median, bounced back onto the freeway and became disabled, facing the wrong way.
Ramirez then exited the car from the passenger’s side and walked directly into the path of a vehicle on the freeway. She landed in the roadway as the vehicle continued west, fleeing the scene. Ramirez died at the accident scene.
