Girl, Aunt Hit by Car in Fatal Oakland Pedestrian Accident

Oakland, CA (October 1, 2019) – A woman was killed and a girl was injured in a pedestrian crash in Oakland. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of October 1 at 22nd Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.

Ellie Nguyen, 4, and her aunt, 45-year-old Huong Truong, were crossing the intersection when they were hit by a vehicle. Truong died at the accident scene. Nguyen suffered severe head and stomach injuries and was taken to a local hospital. She is currently in stable condition. The driver fled the accident scene. No description of the vehicle or driver has been provided.
