Jeep Rear-Ended by Semi Truck in Fatal Weed Accident

Weed, CA (June 20, 2019) – A man and a teen were killed in a semi truck crash in Weed. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of June 20 on Highway 97.

Jack E. Ratliff, 45, of Weed, was driving a Jeep Cherokee southbound on Highway 97, near Solus Drive, when he collided with a semi truck. The Jeep was rear-ended by a big rig while making a U-turn over the double yellow lines.

Ratliff and a 13-year-old passenger in the Jeep were killed in the crash. The driver of the semi truck, 32-year-old Gupreet Singh Sr. of Sacramento, was not injured.
