Jason Peters Killed From Heat Exhaustion on Fresno State Water Tower

Diver Went Into Cardiac Arrest in Fatal Fresno Incident

Fresno, CA (June 25, 2020) – A man was performing maintenance work on top of the Fresno State water tower when he died from cardiac arrest. The fatal incident happened on June 25.

Jason Peters, 27, of Florida, was one of three divers scheduled to work inside the water tower. Due to the high temperatures, however, Peters became overcome with heat exhaustion. He was taken to a local hospital, where he went into cardiac arrest and died. The other two divers could not climb 130 feet down on their own and were rescued by firefighters.

The workers were contracted by LiquiVision Technology, based in Oregon. They were there to clean and inspect the water tower, which is required every three years.
