Javier Carrillo Killed in Crash on Pacific Coast Highway Near Deer Creek Road

3 Vehicles Involved in Fatal Malibu Accident

Malibu, CA (May 1, 2020) – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Malibu. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of May 1 on Pacific Coast Highway.

Oxnard resident Javier Carrillo, 42, was driving an International box truck on southbound Pacific Coast Highway. In front of him was a Ford flatbed truck, driven by a 61-year-old man from Thousand Oaks. The driver was attempting to turn onto Deer Creek Road.

Carrillo failed to slow down, rear-ending the Ford truck. The impact pushed the Ford into the northbound lane, where it hit a Subaru driven by a 76-year-old Redondo Beach man.

Carrillo died at the accident scene. The driver of the Ford suffered moderate injuries, while the Subaru driver suffered major injuries. Both were taken to a local hospital.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and loved ones of Javier Carrillo.
