Jayden Arias Killed in Crash at Olive Avenue and Westwood Street
Bicyclist Dies in Fatal Porterville Hit and Run Accident
Porterville, CA (May 5, 2020) – A teen boy was killed in a hit and run crash in Porterville. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of May 5 at Olive Avenue and Westwood Street.
Jayden Arias, 15, of Porterville, was riding his bicycle on northbound Westwood Street when he was hit by a dark-colored vehicle at the intersection. Arias was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
The driver fled the accident scene. The police tracked him to his home. He was identified as Harvey Jacobo, 23.
Jacobo was arrested and booked into Tulare County South County Detention Facility. He faces multiple charges, including DUI causing death, hit and run causing death, driving without a required ignition interlock device and driving with a suspended driver’s license. He is being held on $300,000 bail.
