Vehicle Loses Control in Fatal Lancaster Accident

Lancaster, CA (December 27, 2020) – Two people were killed in a crash in Lancaster. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of December 27 on State Route 138.

A GMC Sierra was traveling on eastbound State Route 138, near 110th Street West, when the driver attempted to pass a slower-moving vehicle. However, there was a vehicle approaching, so the GMC driver veered to the left to avoid a head-on collision.

The driver, a 31-year-old Mojave woman, lost control of the GMC and it overturned and crashed. Passengers Jeremy Sanders, 28, of Lancaster, and Renta Pollard, 46, of Pacoima, died at the accident scene. Neither were wearing seat belts.

The driver of the GMC was hospitalized with major injuries. A 19-year-old Lancaster man who was also a passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and loved ones of Jeremy Sanders and Renta Pollard.
