Jesus Arellano-Rodriguez Dies in Thermal Crash
Thermal, CA (May 6, 2018)– A man attempted to tow away his disabled Ford Focus was hit and killed by a Jeep on the morning of May 6. The fatal accident happened in Thermal on Johnson Avenue and Avenue 60. Jesus Arellano-Rodriguez, a 23-year-old man from Thermal, died in the crash.
Arellano-Rodriguez was traveling on Avenue 60 when he crashed his Ford Focus into a water tower. He left the scene to get a Ford Ranger to tow the Focus.
He had 22-year-old Daniel Bernalsteer the Focus. Bernal lost control of the car and the Focus ended up disabled once again, this time in the middle of the roadway on Johnson Avenue.
Angel Marcelo from Mecca was driving a Jeep Laredo when he crashed into the Focus. The Jeep also struck Arellano-Rodriguez, who was later found dead by authorities. Bernal was arrested for drunk driving.
