Lost Hills Crash Kills Juan Angel Alvarez, Injures 4 Others
Lost Hills, CA (June 24, 2018) –A teen has been killed in a Lost Hills accident. The fatal crash occurred on Lerdo Highway on the evening of June 24.
The boy, identified as 15-year-oldJuan Angel Alvarez from Gonzalez, was one of five people in a car that struck a utility pole on Lerdo Highway, near Highway 33.
Alvarez was a passenger in a Honda Pilot driven by 36-year-old Elizabeth Diaz. She was traveling west on the Lerdo Highway when she turned unsafely. The Honda traveled across the eastbound lanes. It then exited the roadway and went into a culvert.
Diaz could not get back onto the roadway. She lost control, with the Honda hitting the power pole.
Alvarez died at the accident scene. Diaz and three others – 31-year-old Chris Verduzco, 14-year-old Carlos Alvarezand 10-year-old Christel Alvarez – suffered minor injuries. They were taken to a local hospital.
