Long Beach, CA (September 29, 2019) – A loose tire slammed into the windshield of an SUV in Long Beach, killing the driver and injuring the passenger. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of September 29 on the 405 Freeway.

Motorists reported a loose tire on the southbound side of the 405 Freeway, near Wardlow Road. The tire crossed over the center divider and collided with a BMW SUV in the northbound lanes.

The woman driving the SUV, 61-year-old Judi Yourman, died before paramedics could arrive. Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free the male passenger from the wrecked vehicle. He was hospitalized with unknown injuries.
