SUV Loses Control, Rolls Over in Fatal Bakersfield Accident

Bakersfield, CA (January 16, 2021) – A woman was killed and nine children were injured in a crash in Bakersfield. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of January 16 on Alfred Harrell Highway.

A Ford Expedition SUV lost control and rolled over several times on eastbound Alfred Harrell Highway, near Fairfax Road. The driver, Kiana Lashay Coulter, 24, was killed in the crash. Nine children suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital. They range in age from 5 months to 15 years old. 

Only three of the children were restrained. The vehicle was not intended to carry 10 passengers.
