Victim Hit by Car in Fatal Porterville Accident

Pedestrian Fatality

Porterville, CA (November 13, 2019) – A man was killed in a pedestrian crash in Porterville. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of November 13 at Locust Avenue and Hockett Street.

A 69-year-old man was crossing the intersection when he was hit by a woman driving a GMC Sierra. The man died at the accident scene. The driver was not injured.

E-Cigarette Use Linked To ‘Cobalt Lung’

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months. The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
