Fatal Solo-Vehicle Crash in El Sobrante Likely Caused by Medical Condition

El Sobrante, CA (September 19, 2019) – A man was killed in a solo-vehicle crash in El Sobrante. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of September 19 at San Pablo Dam Road and La Colina Road.

A Volkswagen sedan veered off the road and collided with a metal pole in a parking lot at the intersection. The driver, a 66-year-old man from El Sobrante, was unresponsive by emergency crews. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. It is believed that the man may have had a heart attack or some other medical condition that caused him to drive off the road.

The database contains medical device reports submitted to the FDA via its Alternative Summary Reporting Program from 1999 to 2019.
