Victim Hit by Car in Fatal Irvine Pedestrian Accident

Irvine, CA (November 12, 2019) – A man was killed in a pedestrian crash in Irvine. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of November 12 at Shadow Oaks and Barranca Parkway. 

A vehicle hit the man at the intersection, near Irvine Valley College. Emergency crews found the man lying in the roadway. Paramedics tried to save the man, but he died at the accident scene.

E-Cigarette Use Linked To ‘Cobalt Lung’

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months. The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
