Man Killed in Crash at Sunflower and Hyland Avenues

Victim Pinned Under Truck in Fatal Costa Mesa Accident

Costa Mesa, CA (October 22, 2020) – A man was killed in a street takeover crash in Costa Mesa. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of October 22 at Sunflower and Hyland avenues. 

A street takeover occurred at the intersection, where at least 80 vehicles were performing stunts. A pickup overturned and landed on its side, pinning a man in his 20s. The man died at the accident scene. The driver of the pickup truck, who was the victim’s cousin, was arrested.
