Man Killed in Crash on Interstate 280 Near Edgewood Road

Pickup Truck Hit Patrol Driver in Fatal Redwood City Accident

Redwood City, CA (June 23, 2020) – A Bay Area Freeway Service Patrol driver was killed in a crash in Redwood City. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of June 23 on Interstate 280.

The crash happened on the shoulder of southbound Interstate 280, near Edgewood Road. A pickup truck crashed into the patrol driver’s vehicle. The vehicle then hit the driver.

The patrol driver, identified as a Castro Valley man in his 60s, died at the accident scene. The pickup truck driver, identified as a 25-year-old man from San Jose, remained at the accident scene.
