Police Chase Leads to Fatal Greenbrae Accident

Greenbrae, CA (January 2, 2020) – A man was killed when a police chase led to a crash in Greenbrae. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of January 2 on La Cuesta Drive.

A man was busting out windows and burglarizing cars in the area. Police officers found the man holding a tire iron. He was surrounded by broken glass. The man jumped into a pickup truck and drove away.

CHP pursued the suspect for a short distance, until the man drove two miles along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The man then ran a red light at La Cuesta and Sir Francis Drake. A pickup truck T-boned the suspect’s pickup as it was leaving the Bon Air shopping center.

The suspect’s vehicle then hit a light pole, among other objects. Firefighters arrived a few minutes later, but the suspect had died at the accident scene. The other driver suffered minor injuries.
