Fatal Accident

Greenbrae, CA (January 2, 2020) – A man was killed when a police chase led to a crash in Greenbrae. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of January 2 on La Cuesta Drive.

A man was busting out windows and burglarizing cars in the area. Police officers found the man holding a tire iron. He was surrounded by broken glass. The man jumped into a pickup truck and drove away.

CHP pursued the suspect for a short distance, until the man drove two miles along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. The man then ran a red light at La Cuesta and Sir Francis Drake. A pickup truck T-boned the suspect’s pickup as it was leaving the Bon Air shopping center.

The suspect’s vehicle then hit a light pole, among other objects. Firefighters arrived a few minutes later, but the suspect had died at the accident scene. The other driver suffered minor injuries.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and loved ones of the victim.
