Vehicle Plunges Into River in Fatal Chula Vista Accident

Chula Vista, CA (September 25, 2020) – A man was killed when his SUV crashed into a river in Chula Vista. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of September 25 on State Route 54.

A Lexus SUV was traveling on State Route 54, near San Diego Bay, when it plunged into the Sweetwater River. A body was found in the water. Divers pulled the victim from the water. The driver, a 69-year-old man, died at the accident scene.
