Brenda Begg Injured When Driver Tries to Pass Vehicles in Fatal Lompoc Accident

Lompoc, CA (July 26, 2019) – A man was killed after trying to pass multiple vehicles in Lompoc. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of July 26 on Highway 1.

A 50-year-old man driving a Toyota Corolla south on Highway 1, near Constellation Road, when he swerved into the center median to pass slower traffic. The Toyota hit the vehicle in front of him and spun out of control. It then collided head-on with a Ford Explorer SUV.

The Toyota went off the road and went down an embankment. The driver of the Ford, Brenda Begg, 55, from Lompoc, suffered a compound fracture to leg and other major injuries. The driver of the other vehicle the Toyota hit was not injured.
