Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on W. Via Rancho Parkway


Victim Was Acting Erratically Before Fatal Escondido Accident

Escondido, CA (September 24, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash in Escondido. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of September 24 on W. Via Rancho Parkway.

A man acting erratically was walking in the middle of W. Via Rancho Parkway, near Purer Road. The pedestrian was later hit by an Infiniti. The driver, a 47-year-old woman, remained at the accident scene.

It is believed that the victim, a man between 18 to 25 years old, was under the influence. The roadway was dark and witnesses reported having difficulty seeing the pedestrian before he was hit.
