Police Chase Leads to Fatal La Verne Accident

Fatal Accident

La Verne, CA (August 29, 2019) – Two people were killed and three were injured in a crash caused by a police chase in La Verne. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of August 29 at White Avenue and College Lane.

Police tried to pull over an Acura Integra that failed to stop at a red light and stop sign. This led to a short quarter-mile chase. The Acura then hit a Toyota Corolla head-on at the intersection of White Avenue and College Lane.

The drivers of both cars were killed in the crash. The driver of the Toyota was identified as Marlet Reyes, 68, of La Verne. Five people were injured, including three passengers in the Toyota and two in the Acura. Three are in critical condition.
