Driver Faces DUI Charge in Fatal Whittier Accident

Whittier, CA (November 24, 2019) – A woman was killed and a man was injured in a solo-vehicle crash in Whittier. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of November 24 on Colima Road.

A man was driving a vehicle when he slammed into a tree in the 7700 block of Colima Road. The passenger, Mireya Rivera Avila, 23, was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. 

The driver was injured and taken to a local hospital. He faces DUI charges upon his release.

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months.
