Wrong-Way Driver Pedro Alvarado-Torres Flees Scene of Fatal Paso Robles Accident

Paso Robles, CA (July 15, 2019) – One person was killed and two others were injured in a wrong-way crash in Paso Robles. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of July 15 on Highway 101.

A wrong-way driver hit a vehicle on northbound Highway 101, near Spring Street. Two people stopped to help, but another vehicle came through the area and lost control due to debris from the crash. 

The Good Samaritans were hit by the oncoming vehicle. One of them, identified as 55-year-old Monica Cantu of Paso Robles died at the accident scene. She was an employee at Cal Poly. The other, identified as 49-year-old Raul A. Gomez of Paso Robles, suffered major injuries. Anne Neville-Olson, 62, of Atascadero, was hit in the first crash and suffered moderate injuries.

The wrong-way driver, 40-year-old Pedro Alvarado-Torres of King City, fled the accident scene. Police are still looking for him.
