Natalia Rodriguez Injured in Hit and Run Crash at Pico Boulevard and Alvarado Street

Teen Hit Twice in Los Angeles Accident

Pedestrian Accident 7

Los Angeles, CA (September 6, 2019) – A teen was injured in a hit and run crash in Los Angeles. The accident occurred on the morning of September 6 at Pico Boulevard and Alvarado Street.

The victim, 13-year-old Natalia Rodriguez, was walking to school. She was crossing in a marked crosswalk at the intersection when she was hit by Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver hit the girl twice. He then stopped, got out of his vehicle and apologized for hitting her. He told her “Hey, I’m sorry,” but then got back in his car and took off.

The driver fled the accident scene without identifying himself or helping the victim. He is described as an African-American man in his 30s. He is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 270 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a gray shirt, black shoes and a black cap. His vehicle had license plates from another state.

A man and his son eventually stopped to help Rodriguez. They also called the police. A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

New California Law Extends Time For Filing Child Sexual Abuse Claims

On October 13, 2019, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a law allowing victims of child sex abuse additional time to report the abuse and file lawsuits. A flurry of allegations of Catholic priest sexual abuse of minors, as well as former U.S. Olympic gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar’s 2018 conviction, led to the introduction of the legislation.
