Nathan Garza Killed in Shooting While Working at Safeway


Chris Young Arrested for Murder in Fatal American Canyon Incident

American Canyon, CA (August 16, 2020) – A young man was shot and killed while delivering groceries in a parking lot of the Safeway store in American Canyon. The fatal incident occurred just after noon on August 16 on American Canyon Road.

Nathan Garza, 18, of Fairfield, was fatally shot in broad daylight in the store’s parking lot. The suspect fled the scene and was seen running through backyards and jumping fences. The suspect, identified as Chris Young, 23, was later arrested after police found a .45 caliber handgun after searching his vehicle. That gun was the same one used in the shooting. Young was arrested and is currently in jail facing murder charges.
