
Nurse Merlin Pambuan Recovering From COVID-19
Long Beach Nurse Still Recovering From 8-Month Battle
Long Beach, CA (December 21, 2020) – On December 21, after an eight-month battle with COVID-19, an ICU nurse has been discharged from the very hospital where she works. Merlin Pambuan, 66, has spent 40 years working as a nurse at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach and recently spent eight months as a patient there.
Pambuan was diagnosed with COVID-19 in the spring. Her case was severe and she almost died several times. She was placed on a breathing apparatus between May and September. When she woke up, she could no longer walk.
She was released from the hospital on December 21. She is now able to walk again but still faces a difficult recovery.
