Ofelia Sanchez Killed While Working at CR&R Environmental Services

Employee Run Over by Skip Loader in Fatal Colton Accident

Colton, CA (January 4, 2020) – An employee at a recycling company in Colton was killed when she was run over by a skip loader. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of January 4 at CR&R Environmental Services at 2059 E. Steel Road.

Ofelia Sanchez, 54, of Colton, was directing people who were dropping off recyclables and company vehicles when she was hit by the skip loader. Sanchez died in the accident.

Cal/OSHA is examining the circumstances of Sanchez’s death to see whether the company should be cited or fined.  

Sanchez worked at the company for 16 years. She was married for 35 years and had four children and five grandchildren.
