Pedestrian Injured in Crash at El Cajon Boulevard and Copeland Avenue


Driver Flees Scene of San Diego Accident

San Diego, CA (May 5, 2020) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries in a hit and run crash in San Diego. The accident occurred on the evening of May 5 at El Cajon Boulevard and Copeland Avenue.

A 56-year-old man was walking across the intersection. He was in a crosswalk and had the right of way when he was hit by a vehicle that ran a red light. 

Emergency crews arrived at the scene. The pedestrian was found in the roadway. He suffered a collapsed lung, a brain bleed and multiple rib fractures. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver fled the accident scene and went toward Interstate 15. The vehicle is described as an older white Ford Expedition.
