CHP Motorcycle Officer Hits Victim in Fatal Long Beach Accident

Long Beach, CA (October 27, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash in Long Beach. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of October 27 on Del Amo Boulevard.

A pedestrian was in the roadway on Del Amo Boulevard, near Cherry Avenue, when they were hit by a CHP motorcycle officer. The pedestrian died at the accident scene. The officer suffered unknown injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

E-Cigarette Use Linked To ‘Cobalt Lung’

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months. The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
