Modesto, CA (June 15, 2019) – Two men were arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle and killing two bystanders in Modesto. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of June 15 at D and 14th streets.

The incident began at Lakewood and Briggsmore avenues. Police pursued a stolen car at the intersection at high speeds. The suspects in the car fired several shots at the police officers. The chase continued until the stolen car jumped a curb and crashed into the seating area of the Taco Vallarta taco truck, located on the corner of D and 14th streets.

The two suspects then fled the accident scene on foot. They were taken into custody shortly after. They have been identified as Rodney Quiros, 24, of San Francisco and Antonio Gazo, 22, of Daly City. They are in jail on multiple charges, including homicide.

Two customers were killed in the crash. One was identified as Pedro Gil, 31, of Vernalis.
