Police Officer Shot at Ralph’s Grocery Store

Gunman Arrested in Granada Hills Shooting

Granada Hills, CA (November 1, 2020) – A Los Angeles Police Department officer was shot while inside a Ralph’s grocery store in Granada Hills. The shooting occurred on the evening of November 1 on Devonshire Street.

A man was causing a disturbance inside a Ralph’s grocery store. Police discovered that the suspect was armed with a gun and smelled of alcohol. He assaulted several people inside the store. He was also seen shirtless standing atop a store shelf and dancing. 

As the man fell through the roof, the police shot him with a bean bag. The man returned fire, shooting a police officer. The store was evacuated and the man fled the store. 

The suspect then went inside a nearby AM/PM convenience store and officers took him into custody. He was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation. The injured officer was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center. He was released with stitches and is expected to make a full recovery.
