Raquel Jiminez-Zurita, Janet Jimenez Injured in Crash on Highway 1 Near Solomon Road
Driver Arrested for DUI in Orcutt Accident
Orcutt, CA (August 3, 2020) – Two women were injured in a solo-vehicle crash in Orcutt. The accident occurred on the morning of August 3 on Highway 1.
Driver Raquel Jiminez-Zurita, 22, and passenger Janet Jimenez, 20, both of Santa Maria, were in a Toyota Camry heading north on Highway 1, near Solomon Road. Jiminez-Zurita suddenly swerved and lost control. The Toyota went off the road and rolled over. It hit a utility pole, ripping the car into two pieces. The crash also spilled about 10 gallons of fuel and broke and electrical line.
Both women suffered pain and minor injuries. They were taken to a local hospital. Jiminez-Zurita was arrested for DUI and will be booked into Santa Barbara County Jail once she is released from the hospital.
