Hernandez Loses Control, Causes Fatal Multi-Vehicle Cerritos Accident

Cerritos, CA (August 7, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Cerritos. The fatal accident occurred just after midnight on August 7 on State Route 91.

Luis Rivera Hernandez, 21, was driving eastbound on State Route 91, near Pioneer Boulevard, when he lost control of his Toyota Sienna and crashed into a concrete center divider. After exiting his vehicle, a Ford Expedition slammed into it. Raymond Ruvalcaba, 29, of Torrance, then crashed his motorcycle into the Toyota and was ejected.

Ruvalcaba was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. Hernandez suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Ford was not injured. The eastbound lanes of State Route 91 were closed for several hours as police investigated.
