Rebecca Vanessa Goss Bley, 2 Children Killed in Crash on Highway 154

3 Killed in Head-on Accident in Santa Barbara

Fatal Accident 7

Santa Barbara, CA (October 25, 2019) – Three people were killed in a head-on crash in Santa Barbara. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of October 25 on Highway 154.

Three vehicles were involved in a crash on Highway 154 near the Cold Spring Bridge. John Roderick Dungan, 28, of Santa Barbara was heading west in a Chevy Camaro when he crossed the double yellow line and collided head-on with a Chevy Volt driven by Rebecca Vanessa Goss Bley, 34, of Solvang.

A GMC then rear-ended the Volt and both caught fire. The crash caused a 2-acre brush fire, which was quickly contained.

The Camaro landed on the bridge. Dungan had to be rescued from the vehicle. He was airlifted to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is currently in critical condition.

Goss Bley was killed in the crash, as were her two children in the back seat of the car. A man and his son inside the Yukon were uninjured.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and loved ones of Rebecca Vanessa Goss Bley and the two other victims.

New California Law Extends Time For Filing Child Sexual Abuse Claims

On October 13, 2019, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a law allowing victims of child sex abuse additional time to report the abuse and file lawsuits. A flurry of allegations of Catholic priest sexual abuse of minors, as well as former U.S. Olympic gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar’s 2018 conviction, led to the introduction of the legislation.
