Richard Bianchi Killed in Crash on Old Station

Prison Guard was En Route to Hospital in Fatal Old Station Accident

Old Station, CA (June 25, 2020) – A High Desert State Prison guard was killed in a crash in Old Station. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of June 25 on Highway 44.

Correctional officer Richard Bianchi, 53, was on his way to guard an inmate who was at a hospital when he was involved in a crash. He had flipped the state vehicle for unknown reasons. He died at the accident scene. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. 

Bianchi had been employed by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation since October 2010. He is survived by a wife and two adult children.
