Hollister, CA (September 17, 2019) – A man was killed in a solo-vehicle crash in Hollister. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of September 17 on Highway 152.

The man killed Tuesday in a car crash on Pacheco Pass was identified as 59-year-old Rick Schiltz, a City of Patterson economic strategic commissioner and former owner of the McAuley Ford Patterson car dealership.

Rick Schiltz, 59, was driving a sedan east on Highway 152, near Dinosaur Point Road, when he made an unsafe turning movement. The vehicle went off the road and  traveled 200 feet down an embankment. It then caught fire.

Schiltz was thrown from the car. He died at the accident scene. He was the former owner of the McAuley Ford Patterson car dealership.
