Semi Truck Rear-Ends Car in Fatal Orcutt DUI Accident

Orcutt, CA (February 7, 2019) – Two people were killed when an intoxicated tractor-trailer driver rear-ended a sedan in Orcutt. The fatal accident happened on the morning of February 7 on Highway 135.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Gilbert Pena, 56, of Santa Maria, slammed into the rear of a Nissan sedan on southbound Highway 135, near Union Valley Parkway. The driver of the Nissan, Orcutt resident Rickie Motley, 60, and his passenger, Solvang resident Jesse Donald Gluyas, 24, were killed in the crash.

Four other vehicles were involved in the accident. Several people were trapped inside their vehicles. Two victims complained of pain and were treated at the accident scene. Pena suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
